Palm Beach Vipers Paintball Summer School!

Florida paintball players rejoice! The Palm Beach Vipers are hosting their 2009 paintball summer school July 7th-11th at Hot Shots Paintball Park in Loxahatchee, FL. Vipers coach Ken Bryson has planned out an action packed week in which players will learn critical skills such as proper break outs and lane shooting, effective communication, and focusing on game play development. As an added bonus, the Palm Beach Vipers will be hosting a PSP Referee course and all participants of the summer school will exit the course qualified to both compete and referee in a PSP national X-ball event.
This summer school is a great opportunity to participate and be seen by a well established semi professional X-ball team. If your interested in taking your game to the next level, this is one you won’t want to miss.

The Circuito Suramericano de Paintball is a South American X-Ball league that has been in operation since 2005. Our friend Juan from the CSP wrote in to let us know about a 2 minute video they put together to promote paintball in the area. The video provides some perspective on paintball abroad and how things are shaping up. Its interesting to note the PSP bunkers and the sheer number of players utilizing dye uniforms and equipment. Today I’m announcing my departure from professional paintball team, Nexus.
Desde 2007 he estado viajando al exterior para jugar en la Serie del Milenio con DYE y su buque insignia del equipo europeo, Nexus. El equipo acababa de dejar a Planet Eclipse y ha firmado un acuerdo con el DYE. Dave Youngblood ha traido Mikko Huttunen para unirse al equipo en un intento de obtener la plantilla de la derecha del tracto. La temporada 2007 fue una temporada muy exitosa. Nunca nos arrebató una victoria, 1 º lugar, pero fueron siempre a la caza. La primera temporada fue la “Reconstrucción” y la temporada siguiente fue el año de “Resultados”. 2008 comenzó un poco duro, pero hacia mediados de temporada pronto apareció el sol. Mikko ya no jugaba en el equipo y yo era el único jugador no europeo
.
Ganamos la Copa del Mundo Campeonato en Toulouse, Francia, superando a los americanos de la NXL. Se trata de un paso importante para el equipo, la confianza y el respeto de nuestros compañeros. El siguiente evento fue Alemania, que lo hicimos bien, pero no ganar. Luego vino el último evento en París, que hemos ganado. Nexus es el único equipo que la temporada para ganar 2 eventos.
Es 2009 y ahora ya es mediados de temporada. Es muy lamentable que tengo que dejar el equipo, sobre todo antes del fin de la temporada 2009. Sin embargo, este juego es un negocio y el negocio iba mal. Ya no sentía que era parte del equipo. Esto es comprensible, sobre todo porque yo vivo al otro lado del mundo. Muchos estadounidenses van más de los mares y “clientes” para los equipos, pero son típicamente no más de “Invitado”.
Sinceramente, creo que yo era de Nexus, y cuando alguien me preguntaba para qué equipo jugó , quiero decirles, “Yo juego para Ironmen en Estados Unidos Y Nexus en Europa”. Hice grandes amigos y nunca voy a olvidar lo divertido que tuvimos en los últimos años. Deseo al equipo toda la suerte y éxito en el futuro.
En cuanto a mí, tengo que esperar hasta la temporada 2009 para reincorporarsme a otro equipo profesional, porque las listas están cerradas. Sin embargo, no puedo esperar a regresar a Europa y competir en la serie del Milenio. Siento que tengo mucho que demostrar y estoy cada vez más motivados en la media hora ….

Those that play paintball competitively know that Sunday is the day the real tournament begins. Teams spent the week reworking battle plans and rotating players as they fought for their seat in the highly sought after “Sunday Club”.
Professional Match Scores:
- 1/2 Finals – Russian Legion take 1st Place in Chicago Open 2009 after defeating SD Aftermath 7-1
- 3/4 Finals – The defending champion Philadelphia All Americans beat Dynasty, 7-3
- Semis 1 – Russian Legion defeated Dynasty 7-6
- Semis 2 – Aftermath beat the Philly Americans 7-6
- Quarters 1 -Dynasty took out Aftershock 7-3
- Quarters 2 – SD Aftermath beat Infamous 7-5
Semi-Professional Match Scores:
- 1/2 Finals -Aftermath II took first place in Chicago, beating XSV in the finals, 7-2.
- 3/4 Finals – Vicious defeated RNT in a hard-fought match, 7-5

Chicago Open Paintball Tournament – Saturday Photos

With the satalite feed dedicating additional resources to Michael Jackson’s passing, the minds behind the PSP decided to run a hardline connection into the bollingbrook recreational center to upload the video feed for our viewing pleasure. Though the PSP made a great effort, they subsequently lost power to the line and it appears as if the webcast is just not going to work out this event. Fear not, as ProPaintball.com and veteran action sports photographer Matt Dawson proudly present our Saturday highlight photos. Jack Palombo had to catch a plane back home this morning and his gallery will be released tomorrow in our photo wrap up article.
