Planet Eclipse Hurricanes Press Release!

Nota de prensa de Planet Eclipse sobre el nuevo sponsor al equipo HURRICANES.

Planet Eclipse have been working with the Hurricanes on and off now for a few years but a deal always seemed out of reach when it came down to the crunch. Planet Eclipses US office in bases in Rhode Island in New England and have always wanted a flag ship team bases in the North East, and if your going to have one, the best there is sounds like the perfect solution.

Tom ‘Spinner’ Buckley from the Hurricanes also works at Planet Eclipse and having him sporting the Eclipse range is a perfect situation.

Some people may or may not know that the Hurricanes also featured heavily in the NY Xtreme NXL squad last season and was one of the stumbling blocks that stopped the team getting signed in 2006. This is has been resolved now and we are happy that the NE Hurricanes will now also be playing the NXL as a fully sponsored Eclipse Team as well as in the NPPL.

Jacko, the US guys and everyone at Planet Eclipse are really excited to have the Hurricanes joining the Ego Army. We wish them the best of luck and look forward to toasting them on the podiums.

Welcome to the EGO Family.

The Hurricanes have a lot of exciting news to announce.

First off, our 2007 sponsors are now set and we are very pleased & proud to report that we are going to be a flagship team for Planet Eclipse, shooting the SL-74 Ego – the top marker on the market – and wearing Distortion pants, gloves, pads & a custom Planet Eclipse jersey. We are continuing with Redz International, using their packs, tank covers and barrels. And we are representing KEE Action Sports, using Evil paint, Pure Energy tanks, Vents masks and Halo hoppers. We have the best in breed of everything, and we are very excited for this upcoming season.

Additionally, the Hurricanes and NYX are taking the next step in our relationship, officially merging our rosters, coaching staff and organization. We will have one brand, one set of sponsors, players, coaches and one team playing in both the NXL and NPPL.

The team is pleased to welcome back into the fold long time Hurricane players Brian Gigliotti and Greg “Buddy” Hinthorne – who spent the last few years on Doc’s Raiders and Infamous respectively – and Chris “Lil Poo” Costigan.

And we are pleased to announce that we have added to the coaching staff. Joining paintball legend Robert “Rosie” Rose, NYX coach John Necco and NEH coach Dave “DA” Adams, is Boston Paintball President Anthony Vitale and long time Hurricane Tim Maher. Anthony Vitale will take on the role of General Manager of the team in addition to his coaching duties.

Last year was an exciting year for the team. We grew consistent, making the Sunday club 4 times in the NPPL and twice in the NXL. We started playing Pro in both leagues for the first time. The Hurricanes were introduced to the coaching of John & Rosie. It was an exciting year.

This year promises to be much, much better.
